Select three of the quotations from the worksheet we completed on Tuesday about Beatrice's views of marriage, write them down, and explain what they show us about how she feels about marriage. How much of this might be because of an experience with Benedick? How does her feelings relate to the theme of people often wearing masks to disguise their true feelings?
“Not till God make men of some other metal than
earth.”
“Lord, I could not endure a husband with a beard on his face.(25)
I had rather lie in the woollen!”
“What should I do with him? dress him in my
apparel and make him my waiting gentlewoman?"
Each of these quotes show that Beatrice does not have no interest in man. These quotes can be a pass experience that happened with Benedick. She feels hurtful towards them and think they don't have much worth. This relates to her because she have had to have a pass relationship. So at some point in her life she did believe in love but because of a pass experience she has to put up a front on now. So she has to fake how she really feels now about love so she won't get hurt again.
